Job Posting: Service Technician
Reports to: Service Manager
General
This individual to develop their knowledge of compact construction equipment in the area of Bobcat of Brantford and the ability to service this equipment. This individual must have a set of mechanical tools as required by the job. This individual requires organizational skills. This individual must possess the technical knowledge to perform required duties.
Service Technician Duties
Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 100+ pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 50+ pounds and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 20+ pounds.
- Occasional to frequent walking or standing
- Frequent and continual movement as follows, often several of movements simultaneously (i.e. handle while crouching, carry while kneeling):
- Kneel (bend legs at knee, come to rest on knees)
- Crouch/Squat (bend body down and forward, bending legs and spine)
- Crawl (move on hands, knees, and feet)
- Climb (ascend/descend ladders, stairs, ramp, or step up on or down from equipment/trailer)
- Stoop (Bend downward and forward at waist)
- Lift (raise or lower object > 25 pounds from one level to another)
- Carry (transport an object)
- Push (press with steady force, thrust objects forward, downward, outward)
- Pull (drag or tug objects)
- Turn/twist (move a body part in circular motion)
- Bend (bend downward and forward by bending the spine at waist)
- Reach (extend hands and arms in any direction)
- Handle (seize, hold turn with hands)
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment.
- Frequently exposed to weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise
Standard of Measurement:
In the service department, the skills and dedication of the technical staff is of paramount importance. These individuals, by nature of their work, are expected to provide high quality repairs within acceptable time standards. In addition to the duties listed above, reputation for teamwork and cooperation between departments; as well as exceptional customer service. Punctuality and positivity are expected. Employee performance will be discussed with Management Team every 6 months. Monthly individual check-ins with Management will be conducted.

Service Technician Duties
- Recondition or repair all equipment as necessary. Diagnose problems and plan method and sequence of repair work required. Advise Service Advisors (with Shop Forman assistance as needed) of additional work required.
- Performs setup and pre-delivery of new equipment.
- Account for all time and material for each respective service job
- Ensure proper documentation of all repairs (codes, pictures, component serial numbers, return parts)
- Keep Service Manager/Shop Foreman informed of work.
- Maintain and care for all shop tools and shop equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Participate in training program as prescribed by Service Manager
- Responsible for all other duties that may be assigned occasionally by the Manager
